In 1771, Francisco Vila is married to Josefa Pons. The couple initially lived in the remote house of Mas Boscarons but Josefa longed for life in the village.
To make her happy, Francisco ordered the construction of a new home — a gesture of devotion that became a legend in the region.
In 1787, the couple inaugurated this splendid residence, known ever since as “La Casa Nova"

* Built between the 18th and 19th centuries, the mansion spans ,000 m² of living space on a 9,500 m² plot🌳
* It's organized around a central covered courtyard* crowned by a lantern tower that fills the space with natural light ☀️
* The ground floor, with vaulted ceilings and a grand arched entrance, leads to the majestic staircase connecting the upper floors

⚔️ A witness to history
During the Carlist Wars, the house served as a military academy and headquarters.
In July 1874, during the famous *Acción de Vidrà*, the building was besieged by troops loyal to Queen Isabel II while it was occupied by the Carlist forces of Francesc Savall**, one of the most renowned generals of the era.
Even today, cannonball marks can still be seen on its walls — silent witnesses of a turbulent past 🏹
